Her connection with head of security Ian Gordon adds some romantic tension, but the real through-line is Carrie Ann learning how to survive in a place where one bad moment can become gossip, scandal, or worse. She is not wandering through palaces as a tourist. She is trying to keep her career.

The setting does a lot of the heavy lifting. Palace gardens, formal rooms, staff corridors, and the royal kitchen all give the series a contained world with clear rules and status lines. That makes it cozy, but not sleepy. Every meal is a deadline. Every event is public. Every mistake could cost someone a job.

If you like culinary cozies with a strong workplace angle, this series is easy to recommend. The royal backdrop is fun, but the real draw is watching Carrie Ann balance knives, schedules, egos, and murder without letting dinner collapse.
