Series background & context
The Karimi Siblings books, originally published as the Veiled series, are two connected contemporary romances centered on the people around the Karimi family. The titles have also appeared under different names, with Veiled Desire reissued as Falling for Him and Veiled Seduction reissued as Waiting for Her. The reading order remains the same.
The first story follows Leyla Karimi and Dr. Mason Barrett. Leyla is attracted to Mason, her neighbor and her younger brother's oldest friend, but she has kept her distance. Their age difference and Mason's close connection to her family make a casual relationship feel like a bad idea. Mason has wanted Leyla for just as long, and once they stop pretending otherwise, the bigger question becomes whether a secret attraction can turn into a lasting relationship.
Family ties make every choice feel more complicated.
The second book focuses on Dr. Maira Khan and police lieutenant Sasha Karimi. Maira has quietly loved Sasha for years, but he sees her as a friend. After Sasha is injured during a traumatic event and receives public attention he does not want, Maira decides she cannot keep waiting for the perfect moment to tell him how she feels.
Sasha initially misreads Maira's timing and struggles with the aftermath of his work. Their story is a friends-to-lovers romance with a patient, emotionally cautious pace. Maira wants to be taken seriously, while Sasha has to learn that protecting someone does not mean making every decision for them.
These are shorter, very sensual romances with a warm connection between the recurring characters. The tone is lighter and more intimate than the later Forbidden Hearts books, though each couple still has real obstacles rooted in family expectations, reputation, and fear of getting hurt.
Begin with Veiled Desire or its later title, Falling for Him. Then continue with Veiled Seduction or Waiting for Her. Reading both gives Sasha's relationship to the Karimi family more context and lets the familiar characters return as part of an expanding circle of friends and relatives.
