Justine McKeen Books in Order

Outspoken Justine McKeen sets out to protect the environment through projects that involve friends and neighbors. Her enthusiasm, bossiness and habit of revealing only part of the truth make her efforts to change people's behavior unexpectedly complicated.

Justine recruits her friends to clean dog waste from a park near the school board offices. She hopes their environmental campaign will attract the superintendent's attention and persuade him to restore their school's librarian to her job.

Concerned about cars idling outside her school, Justine plans walking school buses to reduce exhaust fumes. Convincing skeptical adults to help proves harder than inventing the scheme, testing her determination to make the neighborhood greener.

After Jimmy Blatzo rescues an injured bird, Justine helps him tackle the windows causing similar accidents around town. Their campaign requires the school bully to face the town council and overcome his fear of speaking publicly.

Finding a stray cat and kittens feeding from the school dumpster, Justine sees a chance to help animals and reduce wasted food. Putting her plan into practice means winning over the cafeteria's uncooperative manager, Mr. Raymond.

Justine's Earth Day project collides with Savannah Blue, a classmate who mocks her clothes and environmental concerns. Their teacher assigns the two girls a joint presentation, forcing Justine to work with the person undermining her efforts.

Alarmed by plastic waste, Justine launches a campaign to ban bottled water at school. The new principal, Dr. Proctor, opposes the proposal, leaving her to convince both him and her classmates that changing their habits matters.

Justine and her friends enlist Principal Proctor in a campaign against electronics that consume power while sitting unused. Their efforts to cut waste, costs and greenhouse gases become complicated when Grandpa Blatzo encounters their talk of energy vampires.
