Jean Jones, Bounty Hunter pushes Riley Storm into urban fantasy with a romantic streak. Jean is not the most powerful person in the room when the story opens. She works for the Bounty Hunters Guild, scraping by on limited magic while rounding up rogue sprites and restless ghosts.

Then one job goes badly wrong. A Throne of Skulls drops Jean into a much bigger mess involving black magic, an elder god, an escaped paranormal criminal, and a prison hidden under Mount Olympus. The setup is bigger and stranger than Storm's usual shifter-town worlds, but the tone stays readable because Jean feels grounded, funny, and stubborn enough to complain through an apocalypse if necessary.

So readers should expect more fantasy adventure here than in the average Riley Storm series. There is still chemistry and danger, but there is also guild work, mythic chaos, and a heroine learning that her small role in the world was never as small as she thought.
