Inspector Rykel / Amsterdam Quartet Books in Order

A mutilated body above an Amsterdam canal and a doll in a burned coastal house draw Inspector Jaap Rykel into a brutal murder investigation. Working with a junior detective, he must uncover the secrets behind the deaths before the killer strikes again.

Investigating a headless corpse on an Amsterdam rooftop, Inspector Jaap Rykel discovers his own photograph on the victim’s phone. A message pointing to another mutilated body makes the hunt for a killer increasingly personal and raises questions about why Rykel is involved.

Summoned to a Dutch island murder, Inspector Jaap Rykel encounters a confession from a man with no apparent motive or connection to the victim. A similar killing elsewhere suggests a disturbing pattern that draws him into a much larger investigation.
