Series background & context

The Indigo Bay books bring Stacy Claflin into a warm coastal small-town setting, but they still keep the emotional complications that run through so much of her work. These stories take place in Indigo Bay, South Carolina, a shared-world beach town where everyone knows each other, everyone has an opinion, and fresh starts are rarely as simple as they sound.

The romances often involve people who have been bruised by life already. Some are trying to build a new identity away from fame. Some are facing old loves they never fully got over. Others are returning home with grief, resentment, or family pressure still hanging over them. That makes the town feel more than decorative. Indigo Bay is the place where these characters have to stop running.

The mood is softer than Claflin's thrillers, but there is usually still a little tension in the background. Hurt feelings, community gossip, family interference, and the occasional thread of mystery keep the books moving. The couples have chemistry, but they also have actual obstacles beyond a single misunderstanding.

If you want sweet coastal romance with emotional maturity, community ties, and a setting you can imagine revisiting, Indigo Bay is easy to sink into. The books are connected, but each love story has room to stand on its own.
