Indecent Secrets

by Erika Wilde

2023

Series background & context

The Indecent Series is a trio of connected-but-stand-alone romances built around women who get pulled into dangerous situations and the powerful men who become their unlikely protectors and partners. Each book has a different setup and couple, but all three mix high heat with elements of suspense and moral gray areas.

Indecent Proposal begins with a sniper’s bullet and a woman on the run. After her shady ex-fiancé crosses the wrong people and winds up dead, the heroine becomes the target of those who think she has what he stole. Desperate for help, she turns to a top security firm and ends up in the care of Vaughn, a grumpy, disciplined bodyguard who reluctantly hides her in his private safe house. Rule-breaking, punishment-as-foreplay, and a “temporary only” pact that starts to feel very permanent drive their story.

In Indecent Secrets, the danger is more corporate than criminal, at least on the surface. The heroine infiltrates a land development company not for money, but to push the new owner toward more ethical choices. Bryce Rivers, the reclusive nephew who inherits the business, is nothing like she expected: charming, sharp, and more than capable of turning their fake-professional relationship into a scorching affair. Her plan to seduce him into seeing things her way gets complicated when real feelings emerge and she discovers he is not the only one hiding something.

Indecent Demands rounds out the set with a modern Robin Hood twist. The heroine has been quietly siphoning funds from corrupt corporations and funneling the money back to people they harmed, a risky side job that finally catches up with her. Tech-savvy billionaire Seth Maxwell uncovers her activities and offers a brutal choice: turn herself in, or spend two weeks as his personal plaything. Their arrangement forces both characters to face questions about power, justice, and what they are willing to risk for someone who sees the truth beneath their public masks.

Taken together, the Indecent books are a good fit if you enjoy fierce, capable heroines, dominant but not cruel heroes, and plots where the romantic stakes are intertwined with secrets, investigations, and the possibility of real danger.
