Series background & context
Imagine Ink is Verlene Landon's five-book contemporary romance series about a connected group of friends, relatives, and partners whose lives overlap in meaningful ways. Each novel centers on a different couple, but the emotional history carries from book to book. For the clearest picture of the whole group, it is best read in publication order.
The series begins with Indelible You. Walker is a tattoo artist and a reformed bad boy who has spent years convinced that Erika is beyond his reach. Erika feels the same pull, but their first real step toward romance brings a painful revelation to the surface. The book establishes two things that shape the series, intense loyalty among friends and the lasting effect of secrets.
Ink may be permanent. So are some family ties.
Brand Me moves to Tori Reid and Michael Brande. Tori leaves for a long trip expecting her troubled relationship to move forward, then meets Michael and starts questioning what she has accepted from the man she is with. Michael is dealing with betrayal and wounds of his own, so their attraction becomes part of a larger effort to face the truth and heal.
In Irrevocably Mine, sharp-tongued attorney Stacy and the much larger, artist-hearted Dax finally have to acknowledge a year of unresolved feelings. Dax is also searching for his missing daughter, giving the romance an urgent family thread. Inevitably Yours follows Augusta, a free-spirited woman carrying a baby for friends, as an unexpected love story arrives during a time when her life is already changing fast.
The final novel, Unmistakably Us, brings January and Logan together. January has put her own wishes aside for years to handle family obligations, while Logan arrives carrying a secret and a deep distrust of family. Their story turns on whether both of them can stop running from the chance to belong somewhere.
The tone is sensual and emotional, with jokes, strong friend-group chemistry, and heavier material involving trauma, family pressure, abuse, grief, and recovery. These are not detached stand-alones. Earlier characters reappear, relationships develop in the background, and details gain weight as the series goes on.
Begin with Indelible You, then read Brand Me, Irrevocably Mine, Inevitably Yours, and Unmistakably Us. It is a series for readers who like their contemporary romances connected, candid, and willing to let love be complicated before it becomes secure.
