Series background & context

Hotblooded is a paranormal romance series that gives the wolf-shifter setup a science-fiction twist. Its wolves are not simply another hidden Earth pack. They are shifters stranded in an unfamiliar world, trying to make a life while dealing with enemies, secrets, and the urgent need to protect one another.

The opening book, Stalk, introduces Nick, one of seven shifters who have formed a small pack after being displaced. Their circumstances have made them wary and close-knit, but their new home comes with problems they do not fully understand.

Reese Braga appears to be an ordinary young woman with an ordinary job. Her sudden connection with Nick suggests otherwise. Their attraction puts both of them in the path of dangers connected to the pack’s past and to the questions surrounding Reese’s own identity.

The pack is still finding its footing.

Hotblooded mixes romance with alien history, wolf instincts, suspense, and a fish-out-of-water feeling. The shifters need to learn local rules while keeping their nature hidden, and the people around them must decide whom they can trust when the truth becomes harder to avoid.

Readers who like Danann’s werewolf stories but want something less traditional than a familiar pack hierarchy may enjoy this series. Start with Stalk, which lays out the pack’s unusual origin and the relationship that pulls the first story forward.
