Mr. Hook-up

by Marni Mann

2023

Easton helped build Hooked for no-strings fun, then matched with an anonymous woman who felt impossible to forget. Years later, the app is a success and the connection he lost crashes back into his life.

2

Mr. Wicked

by Marni Mann

2024

A viral PR disaster forces Hooked cofounder Grayson Tanner into a fake marriage plan with Jovana Winters, the one-night stand he never got over. Pretending gets messy when one of them still believes in real love.

Series background & context

Hooked takes Marni Mann’s love of wealthy, overconfident heroes and drops it into a very modern setup: a dating app built for chemistry, anonymity, and trouble. The series follows the men behind the app and the relationships that force them to rethink the rules they helped create.

Mr. Hook-up centers on the rare match that feels too big to shrug off, even after time and distance get in the way. Mr. Wicked goes a different route, using viral publicity trouble and a fake marriage setup to throw two people back together when one of them still believes love can be real. The app connects the books, but the bigger link is the shared friend group and the way these founders keep getting caught by feelings they swore they did not want.

Compared with Mann’s darker work, Hooked is lighter and more playful, even though the heat level stays high. The books still live in a glossy billionaire world, but the premise gives them a faster, more contemporary rhythm. If you want interconnected standalones with app-era dating, secret histories, and men who are much more serious than they mean to be, this duo is a fun lane.
