Hollington Homecoming is a reunion series, which means every book comes with built-in history. The setup is simple and very effective: former classmates from Hollington College reconnect around their ten-year reunion, and old crushes, unfinished business, and long-buried feelings get another chance to surface.

A reunion is always a risk.

That is especially true when the people involved have grown up, built careers, and convinced themselves they are over whatever happened back in school. The series uses that tension well. The characters are old enough to have scars and habits now, but still young enough for a weekend, a party, or one charged conversation to throw everything off balance.

Adrianne Byrd's book in the series, Tender to His Touch, follows Hollington Homecoming Queen Beverly Turner, a stylish designer determined to make the reunion a success, and Lucius Gray, a high-powered Atlanta attorney who arrives carrying his own romantic bruises. Both initially want something light and temporary. Naturally, that plan does not last. Their story fits the larger series idea perfectly: two accomplished adults meet in a setting built to stir up memory, vanity, and vulnerability, and then discover they are not as protected as they thought.

The college connection is what makes Hollington Homecoming more than a set of random standalones. Even when each book centers on a different couple, the shared history gives the whole series a warm ensemble feel. Classmates know one another's old selves. They remember who crushed on whom, who was popular, who surprised everyone, and who may still be carrying a torch. That creates instant emotional texture.

The tone is contemporary and romantic, with a nice mix of elegance and familiarity. These characters have careers and polished adult lives, but once they are back in Hollington orbit, they can still feel like the same people they were ten years earlier. That gap between then and now is where a lot of the charm lives.

If you like second-chance or reunion romances, this series is an easy sell. It is built on the idea that timing changes people, but it does not always erase the feelings that mattered most. Byrd's contribution brings plenty of chemistry to that setup while also giving it heart.
