Series background & context

Holiday Starrs is Zara Zenia's seasonal corner of alien romance. Its featured title, Alien Scrooge, takes a Christmas setup and adds an off-world visitor who has very little patience for Earth traditions.

Cara is a photographer heading to Big Sur to spend Christmas with her parents. She is carrying some baggage from a bad previous relationship, but she is also looking forward to home, family, and the chance to spend time outdoors with her camera. Her plans change when she finds something much stranger than wildlife near her parents' home.

That something is Egrix. He is an alien stuck on Earth while assessing humans for a possible trade agreement, and he would prefer to avoid both people and Christmas cheer. His isolated cave headquarters seems like a good place to do that, until Cara wanders in and becomes curious rather than frightened by what he is.

It is a grumpy-meets-warmhearted holiday romance.

The story uses the familiar pleasures of a seasonal romance, family dinner, winter scenery, old relationship drama, and a reluctant guest, then gives them a science-fiction twist. Egrix has to learn how humans work. Cara has to decide whether an impossible encounter can become something real. Her parents' holiday celebration becomes an important test of whether he can make room for connection.

Readers can expect a lighter, self-contained story rather than a sprawling space saga. The focus stays on Cara and Egrix, their differences, and the humor of putting a Christmas-hating alien in the middle of a family holiday. There is still outside pressure, especially from Cara's ex, but the mood is more cozy than grim.

Start with Alien Scrooge. It is the natural entry point and works as a complete festive alien romance for readers who want a little space travel with their holiday comfort reading.
