The Summer Society follows Bea, Diane, and Sue, who reunite at a beach house in Gull's Landing after the death of their longtime friend Sophia. As girls, the four had promised to stay close forever. Decades later, the surviving women return to old memories, old secrets, and the choices that carried them away from one another. It is a story of friendship with plenty of history behind it.

The Garden Guild shifts to three very different women caught in the same small-town rumor. Lillian is a widow trying to be more than the person everyone whispers about. Betsy wants friendships that last. Emily, young and twice divorced, is trying to begin again in a town that is not as simple as it first looks. A gardening project gives their uneasy connection somewhere to grow.

Friendship is the common thread.

In The Country Club, Meryl inherits a neglected country house after her parents' deaths and must decide whether she can save it. Delia needs a place to stay after an unexpected divorce, while Lucy resists pressure to give up her independence. The three women become housemates and turn the property into a place where each of them can start over.

Gull's Landing uses gentle mystery and local gossip to add momentum, but its real interest is women finding their footing. The characters are not always at the same stage of life. Some are looking back on decades of friendship, some are raising families or leaving marriages, and some are discovering that a new community can become family.
