Ground and Pound is Sapphire Knight's fight-world romance series. It opens with Unexpected Forfeit, a story built around local MMA bouts, personal recovery, and a relationship that becomes complicated when an old life comes looking for trouble.

Chyna keeps returning to the fights because she loves the noise, the adrenaline, and the intensity of the cage. Jace "King" Kash is the fighter she cannot stop watching. He looks controlled in competition, but his life outside the cage is shaped by a much rougher history involving drugs, gangs, and his brother's bad choices.

The bell is never the only danger.

Jace has fought hard to get away from his past and is preparing for the biggest match of his life when Chyna becomes important to him. Their growing relationship asks both characters to take a chance on something better. At the same time, the threats Jace believed he had left behind begin to put Chyna at risk.
