Nina thinks she has finally found both love and security with Rick, only to discover that his past, and a woman he thought was dead, may shatter everything they have built.

Rick Brown has history with Kyra from the Thug books, and characters move between Nina's world of phone rooms and the familiar streets of Clark's earlier novels.
