Paul is a demon hunting the woman destined to marry Satan, not the heroine of his own love story. Then Mandy turns out to be both the target and the temptation.

Series background & context

Gods & Monsters is Heather C Myers in dark paranormal mode. The setup is strong right away: a demon looking for freedom finds the woman meant for Satan and ruins his own plan by caring what happens to her.

That is not a small complication.

From there, the series leans into fate, lies, supernatural danger, and romance that feels doomed before it even starts. The world is full of demons, bargains, and the sense that the heroine has been marked for something far bigger than her ordinary life.

Even with the fantasy framework, these books still work like romance. The emotional question is whether the heroine can trust the man beside her, and whether he can choose her over the thing he has wanted longer. Desire and danger stay tangled together the whole time.

If you like paranormal romance that runs darker and a little more mythic, this series is a strong fit. It mixes longing with dread, and it never lets the reader forget that love can be just as risky as the supernatural forces pressing in from every side.
