The Squire's Tale

by Gerald Morris

1998

Fourteen-year-old Terence leaves his quiet life to serve young Gawain of Orkney as his squire. Their adventures test Gawain's fitness for knighthood while drawing Terence toward questions about his own origins and unexpected place in Arthur's world.

Terence accompanies Sir Gawain on another hazardous quest after several years at Arthur's court. Their experience and friendship face new trials in an adventure whose apparent success could carry a fatal consequence for the knight.

Lynet travels to Camelot seeking someone to rescue her older sister. A resourceful dwarf and a kitchen servant join her journey, but both companions conceal more than their appearances suggest in this reworking of Arthurian adventure.

Parsifal's Page

by Gerald Morris

2001

Piers escapes work in his father's smithy by becoming a knight's page, then finds himself traveling with unconventional Parsifal. Their troubled quest challenges his ideas about chivalry and forces both companions to examine who they are.

The Ballad of Sir Dinadan

by Gerald Morris

2003

Dinadan would rather compose songs than perform knightly feats, but his father insists on knighthood. Traveling toward Camelot, he becomes entangled in quests and the story of Tristram and Iseult while reconsidering the meaning of honor.

Thirteen-year-old Sarah seeks revenge for the deaths of her mother and guardian. After witnessing Guinevere's abduction, she joins Gawain and Terence on a rescue journey that challenges her anger and introduces a mysterious knight in a dung cart.

The Lioness and Her Knight

by Gerald Morris

2005

Bored with Orkney, Luneta sets out with her cousin Ywain and the witty Rhience. Their journey toward Camelot becomes entangled with the magical Storm Stone, romantic complications, enchantresses, and promises that prove difficult to keep.

The Quest of the Fair Unknown

by Gerald Morris

2006

Raised in an isolated forest, Beaufils leaves home to find his father, a knight at Arthur's court. His innocent perspective unsettles conventional wisdom as he meets unusual companions, deceptive figures, and adventures beyond his sheltered experience.

Mocked for his small stature at Arthur's court, Givret relies on intelligence instead of imposing strength. His quick thinking earns him a place among the Round Table's knights and shapes a series of humorous adventures.

This illustrated chapter book retells Lancelot's knightly exploits with comic twists. Brave, polished, and determined to protect vulnerable people, Arthur's famous champion also needs his afternoon nap before embarking on acts of rescue and chivalry.

The Squire's Quest

by Gerald Morris

2009

Terence remains Gawain's squire despite his years of experience, but his greater concern is the silence of his faery friends. Months without contact lead him to suspect a hidden threat beneath Camelot's apparent peace and prosperity.

The Legend of the King

by Gerald Morris

2010

As Morgause and Mordred threaten Camelot, Terence, Gawain, and companions from earlier adventures rally to Arthur's defense. The concluding novel brings their separate journeys together in a final struggle against dark magic and betrayal.

This illustrated chapter book retells Gawain's encounter with the Green Knight for younger readers. Humor accompanies the knight's dangerous challenge, bringing an Arthurian story of bravery and knightly conduct into the adventures of the Round Table.

A prophecy seems to guarantee disaster for Sir Balin, yet he continues accepting the duties of a loyal knight. His adventures force him to face difficult choices and question what his supposedly unfortunate destiny really means.
