FriendTrip

by Sara Ney

2015

Becky wants to shake up her marriage, while newly divorced Janine is tired of bad dates and empty nights. Their girls' getaway turns messy, hilarious, and unexpectedly life changing.

2

WeddedBliss

by Sara Ney

2016

Janine's wedding should be joyful, but Becky is spiraling into full maid-of-honor-zilla mode. Between dress fittings, ruined invitations, and too much champagne, friendship gets tested in the funniest possible way.

Series background & context

FriendTrip is a little different from the sports-heavy corner of Sara Ney's catalog. Co-written with M.E. Carter, it leans more into female friendship, adult messiness, and the kind of humor that comes from two women knowing each other far too well.

At the center are Becky and Janine, longtime best friends who are in very different places. Becky is married with kids and wants to bring some life back into her relationship. Janine is divorced, restless, and tired of dating disappointments. Instead of drifting apart, they drag each other straight into chaos.

That is the real heart of the series. Romance matters, but the friendship matters just as much, maybe more. FriendTrip gives you girls' getaway energy, marital comedy, dating disasters, and the very specific comfort of a best friend who will absolutely help you make a terrible plan. WeddedBliss keeps that dynamic going as Janine's engagement and wedding planning push both women to their limits.

It is funny, loud, and a little outrageous on purpose.

If you come to Sara Ney for sports romance, this series will feel like a side street. But it still has a lot of what makes her readable: quick dialogue, affectionate chaos, and characters who say the wrong thing and mean well anyway. Think less locker room, more best-friend panic spiral. The stakes are not championships or team drama. They are marriage, dating, loyalty, and surviving adulthood with your sense of humor intact.
