Series background & context

The Forever Kisses books are Angela Knight in pure vampire-romance mode. These stories are darker and more intimate than her bigger world-building series, but they still have the same punchy mix of danger, desire, and supernatural rules that make love feel risky. The through line is the kiss itself, blood, transformation, obsession, and the question of whether trust can survive when immortality enters the room.

It starts with The Forever Kiss.

Valerie Chase has spent years haunted by dreams of a man she knows only as Cowboy. He turns out to be Cade McKinnon, a vampire who once saved her life and has been protecting her from a far more vicious predator ever since. Their story sets the tone for everything that follows. These are not gentle courtships. The lovers are pulled together by history, hunger, and external threats that refuse to let them breathe.

From there the series widens through connected stories and collections. Forever Kisses Vol. 1 pairs The Forever Kiss with Beth's Kiss, shifting the focus to another woman caught in the fallout of vampire violence. Forever Kisses Vol.2 gathers shorter pieces like Hope's Kiss, Kissing the Hunter, A Candidate for the Kiss, and Blood and Kisses. Together they show the series at its most flexible. One story may involve a detective locked in with a newly turned vampire. Another pairs a Navy SEAL with a woman he has every reason to mistrust. Another throws a reporter into the orbit of a secretive vampire operative.

That variety matters, because the books are linked more by mood and mythology than by one giant ongoing plot. Again and again, Knight returns to women who are brave, cornered, curious, or all three at once. The men are often dangerous, sometimes damaged, and rarely simple. The stakes are intensely personal. Survival may depend on surrendering to a transformation, resisting it, or deciding whom to trust with that power.

The tone sits between gothic fantasy and romantic suspense. There are kidnappings, psychic bonds, blood-hunger crises, old enemies, and secret wars hiding inside private relationships. Even when the stories are short, Knight likes to give the romance a real obstacle instead of just treating the supernatural as decoration.

If you want vampire romance without a lot of padding, this is a good place to go. Start with The Forever Kiss or Forever Kisses Vol. 1 if you want the core story first. Then move to Forever Kisses Vol.2 for the linked novellas. The world is sensual and dangerous, but the main appeal is simple: every kiss changes the balance of power.
