Falling Books in Order

The Falling books begin with college, baseball, and a girl trying to learn how to live again after tragedy. From there, the series opens into a connected world of friends, siblings, and side characters whose stories all carry the same emotional charge, even when the circumstances change.

This Is Falling starts with Rowe Stanton, who arrives at college still marked by loss and the scars it left behind. Nate Preeter, an all American baseball player, is the person who gets close enough to matter. You and Everything After moves to Cass Owens and Tyson Preeter, bringing in questions of reinvention, disability, illness, and what strength really looks like. The Girl I Was Before shifts to Paige Owens and Houston Orr, where reputation and self worth become just as important as romance. In Your Dreams works as a spin off, carrying the emotional world forward through Casey Coffield and Murphy Sullivan.

This is a series about recovery as much as romance.

Scott has said the idea for it started while she was watching an Arizona State baseball game, and that sports energy stays in the bones of the books. But the baseball backdrop is really there to support bigger things: grief, shame, reinvention, friendship, and the way young adults build new versions of themselves once they leave home and old labels behind.

The connected cast helps a lot. The Preeter brothers, the Owens sisters, and the wider circle around them make the series feel lived in. One character's pain never exists in isolation, and one person's healing often opens space for someone else's story to finally be told.

Tone wise, Falling is emotional and earnest, with some heavier themes folded into the love stories. These are not breezy college romances. They are books about people carrying a lot and still finding ways to reach for each other.

If that mix appeals to you, Falling is one of Scott's strongest series worlds. It is intimate, heartfelt, and very good at showing how love can be part of healing without pretending healing is ever simple.
