Series background & context

The Enright books are contemporary romances that orbit around one extended family and the people who drift into their lives. Set along the Mid Atlantic coast, they mix family drama, mystery, and falling in love in places that feel lived in and real.

The series begins at Devlin's Light, a historic lighthouse on Delaware Bay that gives its name to the first book. Prosecutor India Devlin comes home when her brother is murdered on the lighthouse steps. Working with Nick Enright, her brother's closest friend, she tries to untangle the secrets in a town that has always balanced legend and hard reality. As the investigation tightens, attraction grows, and the Devlin and Enright families become permanently linked.

Later stories follow different branches of that connection. In Wonderful You, Zoey Enright is scraping by with a small craft shop when an unexpected audition lands her in front of the cameras on a television shopping network. The work is fast and public, the stakes are high, and her childhood crush, former race car driver Ben Pierce, has suddenly come home to take over the company. The book leans into workplace pressures, family expectations, and the rush of rediscovering a person you thought you had safely filed away in the past.

Moon Dance shifts the focus to Georgia Enright, a professional dancer whose career has stalled. Burned out and unsure what comes next, she retreats to Pumpkin Hill, a rough around the edges farm owned by her newly discovered half sister Laura Bishop. Georgia imagines a quiet stay to clear her head, but quickly finds herself pulled into the life of the farm, the nearby town, and Laura's brooding brother in law, veterinarian Matthew Bishop, who has very different plans for the old barn she wants to turn into a studio.

Across the books you see recurring parents, siblings, and friends, but each novel stands on its own. Readers who start anywhere in the Enright stories get a full emotional arc, while those who read them all will enjoy spotting older couples in the background and watching younger relatives grow up.

At heart, this is a series about family choices. The Enrights are creative, stubborn, and occasionally at odds with one another, but the bonds between them are as strong as the tidal pull of the bay and the ocean, always drawing them back together when it matters most.

If you like romances with a touch of mystery and a strong sense of place, the Enright books are a natural place to begin.
