Elly Blake Books in Order

Elly Blake is a Canadian fantasy author whose books mix sharp romantic tension, dangerous magic, and young women pushed into more than they ever planned for. She lives in Southwestern Ontario with her husband, kids, and rescue dogs, and her short official bios usually add three other loves too: fairy tales, old houses, and owls.

Before publishing novels, Blake took a less than tidy route to writing. She earned a BA in English literature, then worked a string of jobs that included project manager, customs clerk, graphic designer, reporter for a local business magazine, and library assistant. Writing took the long way around.

In interviews, Blake has said the dream started when she was about fourteen and reading category romances with friends. Her breakout book was Frostblood, the opening novel in the Frostblood Saga. It introduced Ruby, a Fireblood girl hiding in a kingdom ruled by her enemies, and paired elemental magic with rebellion, revenge, and slow-burn romance. The series continued with Fireblood and Nightblood, widening the story from palace danger and divided loyalties into something darker and bigger, and Frostblood became a New York Times bestseller.

Then she built a different kind of fantasy world.

With The Forest King's Daughter, Blake moved into the Thirstwood series, a story of bloodred forests, old grudges, and the daughters of a powerful forest king. The book follows Cassia and Zeru, two characters bound by a childhood mistake that grows into war, and it leans harder into fairy-tale atmosphere without giving up the tension and romance readers already liked in her earlier work. The Cursed Queen's Daughter keeps that same world going, this time with a fiercer heroine, a shadow realm, and deeper family secrets.

Across both series, some patterns show up again and again. Blake likes divided worlds, whether the split is fire and frost, forest and underground, or light and shadow. She also writes heroines who have to figure out what their power means before someone else turns it into a weapon, and love stories that get more interesting because the people involved probably should not trust each other at first.
