Driven books in chronological order
Series background & context
The Driven series starts with one explosive meeting between Rylee Thomas and Colton Donavan. Rylee is a social worker devoted to the boys in her care. Colton is a famous race-car driver and businessman who has built a life around speed, control, and never needing anyone too much. Neither is looking for the other.
That does not stop the attraction from becoming impossible to ignore.
The first three novels, Driven, Fueled, and Crashed, tell Rylee and Colton’s story in order. Their relationship is not a neat, easy one. Rylee is still carrying grief from a past loss, while Colton has old wounds and a fierce instinct to keep people at arm’s length. Work brings them together repeatedly, and their connection forces both of them to face the parts of themselves they would rather leave untouched.
Racing gives the series its speed and glamour, but the emotional center is family. Rylee’s work with vulnerable boys matters throughout the books, as does Colton’s complicated history and the support system that gradually forms around them. Expect jealous exes, public pressure, private secrets, messy choices, and a relationship that has to survive more than chemistry.
Raced is an optional companion novella that revisits key moments through Colton’s point of view. It works best after the main trilogy, when readers already know the shape of Rylee and Colton’s journey. Aced returns to the couple later, when their hard-won life together is tested by a problem neither can simply outrun.
The wider Driven world then opens into interconnected standalones. Slow Burn, Sweet Ache, Hard Beat, and Down Shift each follow a different couple, with familiar faces and emotional ties back to the original books. They can be read on their own, but they land especially well for readers who want to stay in the same circle of friends, family, and racing connections.
This is a high-heat contemporary romance series with a lot of feeling on the page. The early books should be read in sequence, because Rylee and Colton’s story builds directly from one installment to the next. After that, readers can choose a standalone based on mood, whether that means grief and healing, rock-star trouble, danger overseas, or another ride around the track.
