Series background & context
Dragons on Mars takes one of Honey Phillips's favorite settings and makes it stranger. Mars is already a frontier in her work, full of storms, mines, and isolation. Add dragon-like beings, hidden caverns, and buried secrets, and the series starts to feel half science fiction, half legend.
The books use that contrast well. Scientists, miners, and settlers run into creatures that should not exist, or at least should not exist according to the data. The romances grow out of that collision between logic and wonder.
If you want Honey Phillips with a bigger mythic streak, but still grounded in survival stakes and protective heroes, this series is a promising place to start.
