Series background & context

Dragon Bound is one of Serena Akeroyd's earlier paranormal series, built around dragon lore, old magic, and the kind of fated connection that makes ordinary life impossible. Compared with her later mafia books, this world is more mythic and openly supernatural, but the emotional engine is familiar, dangerous power meeting equally dangerous attraction.

The series pairs romance with a wider fantasy setup, so the books are not just about falling in love. They are also about hidden identities, inherited roles, and the burden of power. Dragon stories work best when the magic feels older and bigger than the characters, and that is the mood here.

Expect heat, but also prophecy.

As with much of Serena Akeroyd's paranormal work, belonging matters as much as desire. Characters are not only choosing each other. They are also being pulled toward worlds and destinies that may already have plans for them.

If you want a fantasy-leaning paranormal romance from her backlist, Dragon Bound is a good fit. It is best for readers who enjoy shifter and dragon mythology with a strong romantic core.
