Dogwood Cove Books in Order

Dogwood Cove is Julia Jarrett's main small-town romance world, set in a fictional coastal community on Vancouver Island. It is the kind of place where everyone has an opinion, family history lingers in the background, and a quick errand can turn into a town-wide update before dinner.

The series opens with Always and Forever, when Summer returns after eighteen years to settle her estranged father's estate. She inherits a run-down beachfront resort and crosses paths with Ethan Monroe, the mayor and the older brother of her childhood best friend. Their story sets up the series' central pull: going home can hurt, but it can also give you a second chance you did not know you needed.

This is a homecoming series at heart.

After Summer and Ethan, the books widen into the town around them. Rumours and Romance brings in Jackson Holt, the new veterinarian, and a bakery and cafe owner who agrees to a fake relationship for very practical reasons. Work and Play turns to Dogwood Cove's new winery, where a big design job and an awkward shared living arrangement make professional distance almost impossible. Truth and Temptation adds a bookstore, a mysterious billionaire, and a heroine who is learning to take up more space in her own life.

Jarrett keeps the tone warm, romantic, and easy to settle into, but she gives each couple a real problem to face. Some have trust issues. Some are rebuilding after grief or disappointment. Some are trying to prove they can handle everything alone, which is rarely true in Dogwood Cove for more than about five minutes.

The setting matters because the town acts like a character. The resort, the bakery, the vet clinic, the winery, the bookstore, and the waterfront all create pressure as much as comfort. Privacy is scarce, but so is loneliness. People meddle, but they also show up, usually with food, advice, tools, or a dog who makes the whole situation less dignified.

Later Dogwood Cove stories, including Then and Now, Secrets and Mistletoe, and Love and Leashes, keep that same balance of tenderness, humor, and small-town closeness. Second chances, single parents, holiday surprises, rescue dogs, and old feelings all fit neatly here. The books can be read for individual couples, but reading in order gives the town more shape with every return, especially as businesses, friendships, and family ties start to overlap slowly from book to book.
