Series background & context
Dirty Players is Tia Louise in full glamorous romantic-suspense mode. This is the series for readers who want royalty, con artists, private guards, fast cars, expensive settings, and people kissing each other while somebody nearby is definitely lying.
The setup is simple and delicious. Two sisters with survival instincts get pulled into a dangerous scheme involving a crown prince and his family. From there the books move through Monaco, the Caribbean, and other high-gloss locations where power, money, and attraction are always tangled together.
The early books, The Prince & The Player and Player, center on Zelda Wilder and the royal mess she gets pulled into. Dealer shifts focus to Logan Hunt, the elite guard whose job is to protect the crown until the past becomes a problem he cannot ignore. Thief returns to Ava and Rowan, showing what happens after the fairy-tale ending gets tested by old enemies and older habits.
What makes the series work is the mix. There is real suspense here, with cons, pursuit, double crosses, and shifting loyalties, but Louise also leans into the fantasy of it all. These books know how fun it is to watch street-smart heroines unsettle powerful men who are used to winning.
They are glossy, sexy, and slightly outrageous in the best way.
If you like your romance international, high-stakes, and just a little over the top, this is the shelf to try. Read it in order. The books build on each other, and half the pleasure is watching the wider game unfold while each couple tries to carve out something real inside it.
