That tension keeps building in Give It All and Burn It Up. Raina gets pulled into a wary, combustible match with Duncan Welch, the polished fixer working for the very people threatening Fortuity. Casey Grossier's book, Burn It Up, brings the focus back to the saloon, the club, and the people trying to build decent lives while danger keeps leaking in from the past. Across both books, McKenna keeps asking the same question: how do you trust anyone when loyalty, money, and survival are all tangled together?

By the time Ride It Out arrives, the series has widened from a set of romances into something closer to a community story. Miah is still carrying grief and unanswered questions, and Deputy Nicki Ritchey comes in with her own need for a clean start. Their book pulls together the family wounds, personal vendettas, and lingering mystery that have been echoing through Fortuity from the beginning. It feels like a finale because it cares about the whole town, not just the couple at the center.

What to expect overall? Heat, yes, but also dust, grief, sarcasm, class tension, and a lot of bruised loyalty. These books like blue-collar people, stubborn heroines, and men who are rough around the edges without turning into cartoons. If you want a small-town series where the romance grows out of shared history and real trouble, Desert Dogs is a strong place to start.
