The Demon Lord is in the title, but he is not the only figure with power over Dylan's life.

Expect portal fantasy and LitRPG with a corporate edge, a lot of dark humor, and a lead whose motivation is painfully easy to understand. The book has room for action and class-based progression, but it also stays interested in what that climb costs.

If you like fantasy that is willing to be funny, mean, and a little too close to real economic stress, this series is worth watching. It feels built to balance adventure with satire, which is a combination Cooper usually handles well.
