Series background & context

The Dead for Good books follow Brad Morris, a man who has somehow managed to become two completely different people at once. To his family and neighbors, he is a husband, a father, and another guy living a suburban life. In secret, he is an assassin. That tension is the whole engine of the series.

The first book opens with Brad becoming the prime suspect in a murder he did not commit, which is a terrible problem for any innocent man and an even worse one for a guilty man in other areas. He cannot clear himself without exposing the life he has hidden for years. From there, the books keep tightening the screws with more murders, more investigators, more pressure from his bosses, and more family trouble than any cover story can handle.

Brad's daughter Hadley matters a lot in this run, and that gives the series an extra layer. These are not only books about professional killers and covert agendas. They are also about the strange, desperate things people do to protect their children, even when those choices make the mess bigger. Later books widen the scope with double-crosses, intelligence operations, and old wounds that refuse to stay buried.

Expect a fast, twisty thriller series with a domestic pulse. The action is sharp, but the real hook is watching Brad try to keep two collapsing worlds from crushing the same people.
