Dare to Love Books in Order

Dare to Love is one of Mira Lyn Kelly's most inviting friend-group series. It is set in Chicago and built around a tight circle of people whose lives overlap in the way real adult friendships do. They know each other's stories, they tease hard, they meddle when necessary, and they are often much better at spotting other people's feelings than their own.

The first book, Truth or Dare, sets the tone with a premise that is playful on the surface and surprisingly emotional underneath. Maggie Lawson agrees to a dating dare after a brutal betrayal, then finds herself stuck dealing with a man who gets under her skin in every possible way. The dare framework gives the story momentum, but the heart of the series is really about people who are trying to protect themselves and slowly realizing that self-protection is not the same thing as being okay.

Touch & Go takes that energy and turns it toward one of Kelly's favorite tropes, best friends who are in way deeper than they want to admit. Ava and Sam come with years of shared history, private habits, and emotional shortcuts, which makes their attempt to keep things casual especially doomed. It is a good example of what the series does well. The chemistry is obvious, but the real conflict comes from friendship, loyalty, and fear of losing the one person who already matters most.

By the time you get to Now and Then, the wider social circle is part of the appeal. These books reward readers who like connected casts, recurring side characters, and the sense that every love story happens inside a larger web of friendships and memories. Chicago helps with that. The city here feels social and lived in, full of apartments, bars, events, and people forever running into one another at exactly the wrong, or right, moment.

The tone stays sexy, funny, and heartfelt throughout. If you like romances where found family matters, where the characters come with baggage but also with people in their corner, and where a reckless idea can turn into something real, Dare to Love delivers that really well.
