Court of Midsummer Mayhem Books in Order

Court of Midsummer Mayhem is a group of connected fae fantasy romances set in the same wide, strange Fae Realm. The books share places, side characters, old legends, and the Great Library of the Court of Knowledge, but the central couples change from story to story. That makes the series friendly to readers who enjoy a shared world without needing every book to follow one long plot.

The tone is light on its feet, even when the stakes get serious.

The series is built around a realm divided into courts, each with its own ruler, customs, and magical concerns. Humans are not always safe there. Some are treated as little more than possessions, and the threat of monsters grows sharper when Midsummer approaches. Against that backdrop, librarians, outlaws, swordmaidens, and ordinary people make difficult choices about duty, freedom, and whom they can trust.

Several stories play with familiar source material in a new setting. Stolen Midsummer Bride draws from A Midsummer Night's Dream and introduces the Court of Knowledge through Basil, a scholarly fae librarian, and Meg, a human farm girl. Steal a Swordmaiden's Heart looks to Greek myth, following King Theseus as he seeks the help of a warrior court. Bluebeard and the Outlaw mixes Robin Hood and Bluebeard in a story of heists, disguises, and fae trouble.

The main sequence begins with Forest of Scarlet. Brigid, a human living among the Court of Knowledge, secretly rescues people stolen by cruel fae under the name the Wild Fae Primrose. Her work pulls the series toward the larger conflict between the courts and gives the world a strong undercurrent of resistance. Wild Fae Primrose fills in earlier events and adds backstory for Brigid and the people around her.

The library matters a great deal here.

In Night of Secrets, the Court of Knowledge and its books are once again at risk, while human siblings Viola and Sebastian become caught in an unfamiliar court's secrets. Later books continue the pattern of romance, magical politics, mistaken assumptions, and threats that may be bigger than the people first realize.

These are no-spice fantasy romances with humor, action, and hopeful relationship arcs. Expect magical bargains, dangerous fae, talking animals, eccentric side characters, and heroes who may be more comfortable with books or blades than with admitting what they feel. The books can be read in publication order for the most satisfying build of world details, though the individual romances remain approachable on their own.
