Series background & context
The Corium University Trilogy begins with King of Corium and follows Aspen, a young woman sent to an isolated school meant to shelter the children of criminals. Her father’s choices have made her a target, and Corium is supposed to keep her alive.
It does not feel safe for long.
Corium is built around power, fear, and a single rule against murder. Its students come from mafia families and other criminal backgrounds, and Aspen arrives carrying the stigma of her father’s betrayal. Quinton Rossi, the powerful son of a crime-family leader, has every reason to hate what her family represents.
Their relationship drives the trilogy. Aspen has to endure a hostile environment while Quinton wrestles with rage, family pressure, and a connection he does not want. The books move through bullying, revenge, shifting loyalties, and threats that extend beyond the school grounds.
The tone is dark and intense, with a strong enemies-to-lovers thread. King of Corium, Drop Dead Queen, and Broken Kingdom are best read in order because each installment picks up the emotional and external danger left by the one before it.
