Confessions (Melody Anne) Books in Order

Confessions is not romance-first Melody Anne. Co-written with Chris Alan, the series moves into thriller territory and opens with a dark, unsettling premise, the making of a monster. Dance in the Dark follows Adam as childhood damage, family secrets, and growing darkness pull him toward becoming Obitus, a killer the story wants readers to fear and understand at the same time.

That shift in tone matters. Anne's usual interest in emotional intensity is still here, but it is turned toward obsession, corruption, and dread rather than courtship and family matchmaking. The book plays with the idea of confession, as if the reader is being invited inside a damaged mind and then asked how much responsibility belongs to the man, the family, and the violence that shaped him.

It is a grim hook, and meant to be.

Readers should expect crime-thriller energy, psychological unease, and a much darker atmosphere than in Anne's mainstream romance series. There may still be emotional complexity, but the payoff here comes from tension and disturbance, not comfort.
