Class Pets Books in Order

The Class Pets books tell school stories from the point of view of the animals in the classroom cages. Fuzzy, a guinea pig in Class 5-B, thinks he is ready for adventure, leadership, and the respect he clearly deserves. The rest of the pets do not always agree.

Fuzzy lives at Leo Gumpus Elementary with a changing crew of small animals, including fellow members of the Class Pets Club. They observe the children, worry about their own snacks and cages, and get involved whenever their kids need help. The people in the school mostly have no idea what is going on under their noses.

The series begins when former club leader Geronimo the rat retires and a very cute new pet, Cinnabun, upsets Fuzzy’s plans to take charge. The humor comes from Fuzzy’s confident narration and his very animal-sized priorities. He can be jealous, dramatic, and certain that he has the best idea in the room. But he also cares deeply about his friends and the children of 5-B. When the kids are frightened or treated unfairly, Fuzzy is willing to risk his whiskers to help.
