Series background & context
The Chronicles of the Apocalypse series looks at the New Testament book of Revelation through the smoke and chaos of the first century. Instead of a far‑future scenario, it drops readers into the world of Nero, the Jewish revolt, and the fall of Jerusalem.
It begins in Tyrant, set in A.D. 64. Alexander, a Jewish doctor loyal to Rome, serves under Prefect Severus and finds himself drawn into Emperor Nero’s inner circle just as the Great Fire devastates the city. Nero blames Christians, launching brutal persecutions and commissioning Severus and Alexander to hunt down an unnamed apostle rumoured to have written a dangerous apocalypse scroll.
Alongside them travels Cassandra, a bold Christian servant with a hidden connection to the persecuted church. Her presence opens Alexander’s eyes to the reality of spiritual warfare, where demons and fallen Watchers stand behind imperial power, and where the mysterious scroll of Revelation speaks to their own moment in history.
Remnant picks up the thread in A.D. 66. Nero orders Severus to kill the exiled apostle John on Patmos, but John’s explanation of his visions unsettles both soldier and doctor. Alexander, Cassandra, and their companions travel to Jerusalem to warn believers even as zealot factions, corrupt priests, and Rome’s legions push the city toward civil war and siege.
In Resistant, the conflict widens as General Vespasian and his son Titus march through Judea, Jewish leaders vie for control, and the mysterious Two Witnesses begin proclaiming divine judgment. Judgment then brings the story to A.D. 70, where famine, plagues, and infighting tear Jerusalem apart while Alexander remains in the city as a healer and Cassandra struggles to reach him from the relative safety of Pella.
Throughout the four books, the human drama—families divided, loyalties tested, lovers separated by war—runs parallel to scenes of angels, demons, and the gods of the nations clashing in the unseen realm. The series reads like a historical thriller with a strong supernatural thread, and it is written for adults and mature teens who like their end‑times stories grounded in first-century history.
