Around her are her niece Sara and Sara's best friends, Charlotte and Robin, three women who bring old history, unfinished feelings, and very different ideas about what their lives should look like.

That setup gives the series a return-home energy. People come back to Belle Island thinking they are only helping out for a little while, or only visiting, or only tying up loose ends. Then the island starts doing what it does in Correll's books, slowing people down just enough to make them notice what they have missed.

The inn itself is a useful center of gravity. Guests come and go, town problems drift in, and the women around the inn keep crossing paths with familiar faces from Lighthouse Point. That crossover is part of the fun. Readers get the comfort of an existing world, but the emotional focus is on a new group.

Sara, Charlotte, and Robin are not teenagers starting from scratch. They are adult women dealing with careers, confidence, old relationships, practical obligations, and the question of whether the life they built elsewhere is really the life they want. That makes the books feel a bit more reflective, even when the plots stay light and warm.

There is also good rhythm in how the series balances friendship and romance. Each book may highlight a couple, but the larger pleasure comes from watching the women work together, steady one another, and figure out how to belong to a place again. The tone stays hopeful, beachy, and gently funny.

If you like small inns, second chances, familiar island characters, and stories about grown women choosing what comes next, Charming Inn is an easy series to settle into. Reading Lighthouse Point first adds context, but this one can also stand on its own.
