Series background & context
Castles and Courtship is a multi-author Regency series built around one very reliable source of trouble: a castle that brings people together whether they like it or not.
The shared idea is simple and useful. A grand old home means inheritance questions, obligations, visitors under one roof, and plenty of room for two people to be stuck dealing with each other. In a historical romance, that is more than enough to get things moving.
Stockton's contribution is A Noble Inheritance. In her version, Arden Castle is not just a pretty backdrop. It is the center of the heroine's worries and the hero's reluctance. Lady Verity wants safety for her sister after loss has already narrowed their options. Daniel Palmer has inherited a title, a house, and a life he never planned to manage. Bringing them into the same castle turns the building into neutral ground, battleground, and possible home all at once.
That is what this series does well. The setting carries weight. A castle is not only romantic scenery here. It is also responsibility, memory, and a place where people have to decide whether they will run from the future or try to build one.
If you like standalones with a strong estate-centered premise, this is an easy series to browse.
