Series background & context

Carnivale Chronicles is a multi-author romance collection built around music, culture, travel, and the rush of festival life. Sherelle Green's entry, Summer Kisses, brings St. Lucia and Chicago into the same joyful, complicated space.

The story follows Trista St. Paul, who leaves St. Lucia for a chance to work on a major Afro-Caribbean Carnivale in Chicago. She is ready to bring island flavor to the city, and the opportunity is even better because she gets to work alongside Maceo, one of her closest friends.

That is where the trouble begins.

Maceo is everything Trista says she does not want, which of course makes him very hard to ignore. Their friendship gives the romance warmth before the chemistry starts pushing them into riskier territory.

The series background is lively, but Green keeps the focus personal. Carnivale gives the book movement, color, and public celebration, while the romance asks a quieter question: what happens when the person you trust most becomes the person you are afraid to want?
