Series background & context
Bratva Kings Duet is a two-book dark Russian mafia romance that should be read in order. Unlike many of Sara Fields's stand-alone series entries, this one is structured as a duet, with Ours setting up the danger and Theirs carrying the story forward.
Ours begins with Kara being sent by ARCHEON to spy on the Markov Bratva. That is a bad assignment from the start. The Markov brothers, Roman, Dmitri, and Lev, are not easy marks, and once they catch her, the story becomes a mix of espionage, blackmail, family loyalty, and why-choose dark romance.
Theirs expands the conflict with Revenant and shifts focus to Katya Volkov and the Dragunov brothers while also pulling in the fallout from the first book. The danger is bigger, the criminal alliances are more tangled, and the series leans into action as much as possession.
The duet has a darker, more suspense-heavy frame than some of Fields's shorter mafia books. Shadow organizations, kidnapping, rival factions, and brother groups all drive the plot.
Start with Ours. This is not the place to jump in at book two unless you are comfortable missing the setup.
