Series background & context
Boston Dragons is a light paranormal romance trilogy about dragon shifters who are trying to make a life in Boston. The Arish siblings arrive from Ireland after being forced from their ancestral home, carrying family history, powerful secrets, and no clear plan for what comes next.
The first book, I Dream of Dragons, introduces Rory Arish just as he finds a place in a paranormal-friendly Boston apartment building. His new refuge immediately becomes a problem when flight attendant Amber McNally also has a valid claim to the apartment. Neither wants to leave, and the forced living arrangement turns a battle of wills into a romance.
Finding a home is the series' first challenge.
In My Wild Irish Dragon, Rory's sister Chloe wants a place in the Boston Fire Department. She is determined to earn it, even if she has to work around false documents and a workplace that expects her to fail. Phoenix shifter Ryan Fierro, born into a well-known firefighting family, sees her as competition. Their professional rivalry gives the book plenty of friction before either is ready to admit what they want.
The final installment, Never Dare a Dragon, brings phoenix firefighter Jayce Fierro together with Lieutenant Kristine Scott of the New York Fire Department. Kristine is a dragon shifter, and both she and Jayce have good reasons to think a long-distance relationship will not work. When trouble exposes the limits of keeping secrets, they have to decide whether being guarded is safer than being honest.
The books connect the Arish dragons to Chase's broader Boston paranormal community, especially the Fierro phoenix shifters. Firefighting is a natural fit for characters who can breathe fire or rise from it, but it also gives the stories a shared sense of duty. These are people who run toward danger even when their personal lives are already complicated.
There is plenty of heat, in more ways than one.
Read I Dream of Dragons first, then continue with My Wild Irish Dragon and Never Dare a Dragon. Each novel features a different couple and can follow its own romantic arc, but the family story, friendships, and crossover characters build from book to book. Expect playful banter, workplace competition, and supernatural secrets handled with a romantic-comedy touch.
