Series background & context

Blue-Collar Vigilante Vampires is Max Monroe's paranormal-romance trilogy about the Slater brothers, working men whose fated-mate bonds pull them into conflict with powerful vampires. Rook, Kane and Calloway have practical jobs, but the world around them also contains an elite society that treats human women and valuable bloodlines as possessions. Each book centers on a different brother's romance while continuing the family's struggle against that system.

Garbage Man introduces Rook Slater, who collects trash, plays hockey and generally keeps other people at a distance. Meeting Kylie Moon changes that when a fated-mate bond takes hold. Her rare blood makes her a target for powerful men, turning their connection into an immediate protection problem. Rook's response is forceful, and the story combines his possessive attachment with the danger created by people who believe they can claim Kylie for themselves.

The brothers have powerful people to defy.

In Repo Man, Kane Slater enters an elite masked gathering despite the danger to himself and his brothers. There he encounters Blair Windsor, his fated mate, who has been raised to see the vampire auction as a desirable future. Kane understands the threat behind the glamour. Their romance therefore begins with very different ideas about the same event: Blair sees the promise of a life she has been taught to want, while Kane sees a system she needs to escape.

Demolition Man follows Calloway, whose quiet, methodical approach reflects his work tearing things apart. With the Elite Council of Vampires threatening the family and an uncle whose plans he distrusts, he is pushed toward the auction himself. Meeting Romy Spencer makes the conflict personal in a new way. His attempt to oppose the elite becomes inseparable from protecting the woman to whom he is bonded, adding another relationship to the trilogy's continuing confrontation.

The contrast between ordinary jobs and vampire privilege gives the series its setting and central conflict. The Slaters work outside the elite world, yet their relationships force them into its gatherings and power struggles. Auctions and claims over blood turn romantic protection into resistance against an established hierarchy. The tone combines paranormal romance, violence and defiant heroes, with the brothers' loyalty tying the individual couples together. The attraction is both personal and dangerous, since finding a mate creates new reasons for the family to fight.

Read Garbage Man, Repo Man and Demolition Man in order. Although each title shifts attention to another couple, the danger facing the Slaters develops across the books. Starting with Rook and Kylie introduces the bonds and the opposition before Kane and Calloway take their turns. Readers who enjoy fated mates, protective vampire heroes and a connected family conflict will find those elements throughout the trilogy.
