Blood Rose Books in Order

The Blood Rose trilogy is where many readers start with Kaki Warner, and it is easy to see why. Molly McFarlane is desperate, protective, and trying to hold together a future for two children who depend on her. Their marriage starts in confusion and necessity, which gives Warner room to explore trust, responsibility, and the strange way family can form before anyone is ready to name it.

By the time Chasing the Sun arrives, the focus turns to youngest brother Jack Wilkins and a second chance that is messier than he expected. Daisy Etheridge comes to New Mexico seeking help and carrying the kind of news that can change a man's entire future. Jack has always been the restless one, the brother most likely to look past the ranch toward some wider life. That makes his story a good ending for the trilogy, because it asks whether home is something you inherit, choose, or finally grow up enough to value.

Across all three books, Warner mixes hard travel, frontier danger, family banter, and genuine emotional weight. The tone is tender, but it is never dainty. People work. They bleed. They make bad choices and then have to live with them. If what you want from a western romance is a strong sense of place, wounded but memorable characters, and a family saga that gets richer book by book, the Blood Rose trilogy absolutely rewards reading in order, starting with Pieces of Sky.
