Series background & context
Billionaire's Rules is Kelly Favor's office-set serial about Ivy Spellman and Cullen Sharpe. Ivy is the classic good girl at the start of the story, careful, hardworking, and trying to stay out of trouble. Cullen is the opposite kind of force, a billionaire CEO running a massive drug company, used to being obeyed, and drawn to Ivy almost as soon as she enters his orbit.
The hook is simple and effective. Ivy takes a temp assignment at Cullen's company, makes a mistake, and discovers that Cullen sees that slip as an opening. He wants more than competence from her. He wants access, attention, and a level of personal control that turns their working relationship into something charged and dangerous.
Cullen wants control. Ivy wants clarity.
That push and pull is the engine of the whole series. Ivy is attracted to him, but she is also trying to understand what exactly she is being asked to give up. Cullen, meanwhile, is written as a man who keeps his emotions behind locked doors even while making very direct demands. The books turn that tension into an ongoing dance between seduction and secrecy.
This series is especially dependent on order. Titles like Consequence, Truth, Lies, Expose, Risk, and Free are not just catchy labels. They map the kind of emotional turns the story keeps taking. Each part advances the same central relationship, usually by adding one more complication, one more hidden fact, or one more choice Ivy has to make about how far she is willing to go.
The setting matters too. Because the story lives in executive offices, private meetings, and the insulated world of extreme wealth, everything feels sharpened by hierarchy. Cullen has money, status, and authority before the romance even starts. Ivy has to figure out how to keep her own sense of self when she is dealing with a man who is used to setting every rule in the room.
If you like short, bingeable billionaire romance with a corporate backdrop, a demanding hero, and a heroine trying to negotiate power on the fly, Billionaire's Rules is a good fit. It is less about broad worldbuilding and more about relentless escalation. Read it as one long office romance in pieces, because that is where Kelly Favor's serial style really does its work.
