Series background & context

Beasts of Ironhaven is Christine Bell's adult fantasy-romance series written as Chloe Cole. It takes place in a kingdom where lion shifters live under rigid royal rules, and women can be treated as prizes in political arrangements rather than people with choices of their own.

The series opens with Anaya's Pride. Anaya Eldrich is selected for the king's royal harem and sent to the Saint John brothers, men expected to teach her what the king wants from her. Instead of a simple courtship story, the setup becomes a question of protection, loyalty, and whether Anaya can claim a future that belongs to her.

Ironhaven is not a gentle fairy-tale court. Palace whispers, royal power, and secrets surrounding the king put pressure on everyone involved. The Saint John brothers have their own reasons to distrust the world they serve, and their growing bond with Anaya forces them to choose between obedience and defiance.

The books use a reverse-harem romance structure, with an adult tone and shifter fantasy at the center. The relationships matter, but so does the imbalance of power around them. Anaya is not just choosing whom she wants. She is trying to understand the rules that have been imposed on her and find room to act inside a dangerous system.

Anaya's Pride: Book Two continues the first story, while Capturing Iris expands the series with another woman caught in Ironhaven's fraught world. Reading in order is the best way to follow the setting, its history, and the alliances that form as the characters push back against the king's control.

Expect sensual fantasy romance, protective heroes, shifter politics, and women finding ways to resist being defined by other people's plans.
