Series background & context

Beast & Beauty is a two-book dark mafia romance that plays with a Beauty and the Beast shape without turning soft around the edges. The story begins in Beast and ends in Beauty, and the two books follow the same central pair through a relationship built on captivity, fear, and reluctant trust.

The hero known as Beast was sold to the mafia as a child and raised to hunt. That background matters because it makes him feel less like a polished crime boss and more like a weapon that was trained before it was ever loved. When the heroine ends up in his cell, the duet leans fully into the question of what happens when a man shaped by violence meets the one person who unsettles the life built around it.

The setting is dark on purpose.

These books are not interested in making the captivity easy to ignore. The closed space, the threat hanging over both characters, and the way power keeps shifting between them are central to the whole appeal. At the same time, the romance is not only about fear. It is also about what Beast becomes when he is forced to feel something beyond instinct and possession.

If you like retellings that keep the bones of a familiar fairy tale but move them into a much harsher world, this duet is a good pick. Read Beast first and Beauty second, because the emotional payoff depends on seeing the relationship change inside the same dangerous cage.
