Series background & context
Set in the fictional mountain town of Blue River, Colorado, the Bearded Brothers series follows the four Hunter brothers as they run a family ski resort and try to keep their hearts off limits. Each book works as a standalone romance, but together they sketch out a picture of a loud, loyal clan that will always close ranks when someone they love is in trouble.
In Her Mountain Daddy we meet Jackson, a widowed single dad who is more comfortable fixing ski lifts than talking about feelings. His world revolves around his two boys and the resort, until a new homeschool teacher arrives with secrets of her own. Watching Jackson learn to trust again while he protects his family gives the series its emotional starting point.
Beauty and The Beard shifts the focus to a more solitary brother, a true mountain man who prefers snow covered trails to small talk. When he discovers an unconscious stranger on his property during a storm, bringing her into his cabin forces him out of his comfort zone. The book leans into forced proximity, slow thawing attraction and the question of whether she can stay once the danger passes.
In Built and Bearded the resort itself moves closer to center stage. Dax, one of the co owners, is determined to prove he can grow the business without getting tied down, until a driven wedding planner shows up to organize a high profile event. Long days of planning, shared responsibility and off the charts chemistry make it harder and harder for him to keep things casual.
Bride and The Beard follows Harley, the youngest Hunter, who is used to being treated as the carefree little brother. A work trip to Las Vegas turns into an accidental marriage with a woman who has her own reasons to keep people at arm's length. The story balances fun, impulsive moments with the more serious work of deciding whether a spur of the moment commitment can become the foundation for a real life together.
Across the series you can expect snowed in cabins, family dinners, town gossip and plenty of banter between siblings. The heroines tend to be capable women on the run from something, whether that is a bad relationship, a stalled career or a difficult past. The brothers themselves are protective, a little stubborn and deeply rooted in the mountains they call home.
Underneath the steamy scenes and larger than life beards there is a consistent throughline about choosing to stay. Each Hunter brother has to decide if he is willing to be vulnerable in front of someone new, and every heroine has to figure out whether Blue River can be more than a temporary escape. If you like small town mountain romances that feel interconnected without being overwhelming, this series is built to scratch that itch.
