Business improves at a London pub, but the hidden world beneath it faces manipulation by a mysterious enemy. Searching for pieces of a protective amulet, the owner and his Elven companion receive troubling news from the Orc Realm.

After aiding the Orcs, a publican continues investigating the dark force threatening the Shadowlayer and his uncle’s connection to it. Clues lead to Oxfordshire, but a fresh attack on the Fae Realm interrupts the search for answers.

A temporary victory gives a defender of the Shadowlayer time to question an ancient sorcerer hiding in his uncle’s lodge. The answers instead send him toward a Goblin forest, where securing help may prove difficult.

To strengthen the Shadowlayer’s resistance, its defender seeks help for an aging sorcerer from Goblins who distrust him. Meanwhile, news about the queen’s missing relatives raises fresh suspicions and complicates preparations against their shared enemy.

While the search for the queen’s possessed relatives continues, new monsters infiltrate the Shadowlayer’s tunnels. Its defender investigates an unusual neighbor and troubling signs in the Mer Realm as Helshivir’s influence continues to threaten their fragile security.

Darkness spreads through the Mer Realm while missing bodies inflame Orc suspicions. As Prince Consort, a publican must negotiate between distrustful factions, hoping a new Mermaid ally can help prevent conflict and protect their endangered kingdoms.

Helshivir remains entrenched beneath the Mer palace despite a temporary setback. To imprison him again, the Shadowlayer’s defenders need the Unseelie Fae’s help, a working banishment spell, and perhaps assistance from an adventurer across the Atlantic.

With the final confrontation approaching, the Shadowlayer’s defender seeks to awaken his Unseelie powers and weaken Helshivir’s forces. Help from an American ally offers new tools, but preparations must come together before the enemy can overwhelm them.
