Claimed by Caden

by Serena Akeroyd

2014

Caden thought marrying a human would spare him pride politics, until his wife turns up pregnant and impossible questions follow. A dangerous ex and a buried shifter mystery threaten to crack their marriage open.

2

McKinnon's Mate

by Serena Akeroyd

2016

Another shifter romance in the Anchor Pride world, where a mating bond brings love and danger in equal measure. Pride rules, family secrets, and survival all press on the couple at the center.

Series background & context

Anchor Pride is one of Serena Akeroyd's earlier paranormal romance series, and it has the feel of classic shifter romance, fated mates, pride politics, and danger coming from both inside and outside the pack. These are shorter books than some of her later sagas, but the setup is familiar in a good way if you like possessive mates and fast-moving supernatural conflict.

The first book, Claimed by Caden, makes the tone clear. A human wife discovers there is much more to her marriage and her own identity than she ever knew, and a pregnancy forces hidden truths to the surface. That mix of romance and revelation shapes the whole series.

The pride matters here.

These books are not only about the couple. They are also about what it means to belong to a supernatural community with its own rules, expectations, and old mysteries. The external danger gives the romance pressure, but the larger question is whether love can survive the truth once it finally lands.

If you want Serena Akeroyd in shifter mode, with strong mating-bond energy and a more old-school paranormal romance feel, Anchor Pride is a good choice.
