Author bio
Ana Huang writes contemporary romances in which falling in love unsettles carefully guarded lives. Her books often pair a powerful, emotionally closed man with a woman whose hopes and choices complicate his plans. The attraction is explicit, the problems can be painful, and the relationship has to make room for both desire and the histories each person brings with them.
Huang grew up in Miami and was writing during childhood. She was also drawn to romance early, noticing love stories within films and television before discovering romance novels themselves. That interest remained with her even when writing wasn't yet her profession. The genre's promise of a happy ending helped make it a place she wanted to return to as both a reader and a writer.
During the pandemic, writing became an outlet alongside her work as a communications manager.
She self-published her novels and connected with readers through TikTok. The response to the Twisted books helped bring them to a wider audience, and Sourcebooks' Bloom imprint acquired the series for print publication in 2022. Her books have since reached the top of the New York Times, USA Today, and Sunday Times bestseller lists, giving a measurable shape to a career that began with independent publication.
Twisted Love introduces Alex Volkov and Ava Chen, whose connection grows while he is looking after his best friend's sister. Ava's openness meets Alex's drive for control, and both have difficult pasts that complicate what might otherwise be a straightforward attraction. The book shows several features of Huang's fiction together: contrasting temperaments, secrets, a close personal connection, and a love interest who doesn't fit the mold of an uncomplicated romantic hero.
Twisted Games changes the circumstances by pairing Princess Bridget with her bodyguard, Rhys Larsen. Professional boundaries and royal duty stand between them, making the question of what they want inseparable from the roles they are expected to perform. Huang uses those restrictions to create tension between private feelings and public responsibilities. Her characters' material advantages don't automatically give them the freedom to choose the life they want.
With King of Wrath, she begins the Kings of Sin series through Dante Russo and Vivian Lau's unwanted engagement. Blackmail and family obligations frame a relationship neither initially chooses on romantic grounds. The series uses the seven deadly sins as starting points for interconnected billionaire romances, with each book focusing on a different couple. Wealth supplies an expansive setting, but the central problem remains how two people reach one another through their defenses.
Her romances share a fictional universe.
Most can be read independently, while If We Ever Meet Again and If the Sun Never Sets form a two-book story. That structure lets readers try a particular relationship and then follow familiar connections into another book. Huang also enjoys travel and crossword puzzles. Her ongoing work continues to explore attraction alongside ambition, family pressure, and personal change, with recurring characters giving readers a way back into the world after one couple's story is finished.
